When one touch starts and stops
Read the video transcript
Before we count, let's make sure we know what one touch looks like. The start of a response is its onset. The end is its offset. In Dara's example program, onset is the first touch on NEXT. Offset is when her thumb lifts fully clear. For another contact to begin, the thumb has to leave, and then touch again. Now picture Dara holding her thumb on NEXT for six seconds. That's one contact lasting six seconds. It doesn't become six contacts because six seconds have passed. And sliding while still touching the NEXT face continues the same contact, until the thumb lifts clear. One contact runs from onset to offset.
